CEBU, Philippines – A man was found hanging dead in a basketball court in Barangay Lipata, Minglanilla town Saturday evening.
Police said the body of Carlito Cudoy, 38, a resident of the place and a native of Ormoc City, Leyte was found lifeless at 6 p.m. by Marilyn Dominguez, who lives near the basketball court.
SPO2 Jade Abreca of Minglanilla Police Station said the family who adopted the victim believed that it was the victim's problem with his biological family in Leyte that triggered him to commit suicide.
Prior to the discovery of his body, the victim was seen in a drinking spree with his neighbors.
Cudoy hanged himself by tying an electrical wire around his neck with the other end of the wire tied at the basketball ring.
His neighbor rushed him to the nearest hospital but he was declared dead on arrival. Abreca said the victim, single, lived in Minglanilla for a few years already but the family who adopted him believes he was still having a problem with his family in Leyte.
Police saw no indications of foul play on the incident. (FREEMAN)
