Road, drainage projects reroute traffic at North Recla

CEBU, Philippines - A rerouting of traffic for all vehicles including public utility jeepneys (PUJs) and buses passing along the Andres Soriano Avenue, J.C. De Vera Street, J.L. Briones Street and F. Batiller Street at the North Reclamation area started last Friday because of road concreting projects at the mentioned streets.

The Traffic Patrol Group, Cebu City Police Office, Cebu City and the City Traffic Operation Management (CITOM) informed all the motorists and the public that vehicular traffic is rerouted due to the road concreting and drainage improvement that started last October 01, 2010.

PUJs bound to Cebu City from Consolacion, Liloan, Compostela, Danao and Carmen passing the North Bus Terminal must turn left to F. Batiller Street, then make a right turn to Sergio Osmeña Blvd., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., right turn to J.C. Veyra Street and left turn to 6th Ave. going to the White Gold Terminal. From the White Gold Terminal, PUJs must pass through 6th Ave., turn left to J.C. Veyra Street., left turn to Juan Luna Ave., right turn to A. Soriano Ave., to F. Batiller Street, then left turn to Urot Street.

Mandaue and Consolacion PUJs passing the Cebu North Road are advised to turn left to Juan Luna Ave., then turn right to Road North 6, make a left turn to A. Soriano Ave. and then to their usual route.

PUJs and buses coming from the SM loading/unloading area must turn right to Juan Luna Ave., and then make a left turn to J.C. Veyra Street., to Benedicto Street to T. Padilla Street, right turn to Sergio Osmeña Blvd. then to their usual route. Buses that will turn left to J.C. Veyra Street are advised to make a right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., then from there, back to their usual route.

PUJs from the downtown area with route Nos. 01K and 10H passing along A. Soriano Ave., shall turn right to Road North 6, right turn to Juan Luna Ave., left turn to Sergio Osmeña Blvd., left turn to Kaohsiung Street., right turn to Urot Street then to North Bus Terminal. From the North Bus Terminal PUJ route No. 21A while traversing along A. Soriano Ave. must turn left to Juan Luna Ave., right turn to Road North 6, left turn to A. Soriano Ave., then back to their original route.

PUJs with route nos. 22D and 22G in going back to their origin while traversing along A. Soriano Ave., must make a right turn to the Road North 6, then right turn to Juan Luna Ave., left turn to Sergio Osmeña Blvd., left turn to Kaoshiung Street then right turn to Urot Street.

21D jeepneys on their way to Mandaue must go straight to J.C. Veyra Street then turn left to Juan Luna Ave. and turn right to A. Soriano Ave.

All motorists, drivers and other road users are advised to follow the traffic signs installed on the re-routing area.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
