Liloan mulls constructing port
CEBU, Philippines – Liloan town is studying the possibility of putting up a port to accommodate ferryboats.
Mayor Vincent Duke Frasco told The FREEMAN a number of people have suggested putting up a port in the town to serve passenger vessels from neighboring provinces and possibly ferryboats from Lapu-Lapu City.
Frasco said the idea needs to be studied to determine the viability of the project.
He said a big number of people in Liloan town work at the Mactan Export Processing Zone and at the Mactan international airport.
He said the port could draw tourists to the town.
"Tingali moabot ang panahon nga ang lungsod sa Liloan mahimo na nga dakbayan mao nga gihimo nato karon mao ang pagpangandam," said Mayor Frasco.
He said the opening of the Cansag North Coastal road is a big contribution to Liloan's development and minimize the traffic congestion problem. (FREEMAN)
