CEBU, Philippines – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology 7 and RGMA- Cebu have sealed a partnership for a radio program that would promote activities and advocacies of BJMP.
"Basically, this is to disseminate information about BJMP," said dySS Program Director and tri-media personality Bobby Nalzaro during the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement at the BJMP multi-purpose hall yesterday.
Also present in the signing were BJMP 7 Regional Director Chief Supt. Norvel Mingoa, the program's hosts Allain Aliño and Pocholo delos Santos, and its resident psychologist Tata Hernane. A number of jail wardens also witnessed the signing.
Under the agreement, the program will be aired at least once a month live from BJMP itself. It will feature counseling and rehabilitation services to inmates who experience emotional problem.
Aliño said that Hernane will cater to psychological problems while a lawyer will also sit in the panel to deal with legal questions.
The program will also give inmates who have not been visited by their families for a long time the opportunity to re-establish links with their families.
"Mahatagan og paglaom ang mga piniriso nga makakontak sa ilang pamilya labi na katong lagyo", said Aliño.
BJMP will ensure security during the conduct of the program, as well as provide technical and logistical aspects. Nalzaro said the partnership will not only strengthen the relationship between RGMA-7 and BJMP 7, but would also promote public awareness on how BJMP operates.
"I am happy in my capacity as Program Director of DYSS that BJMP has tied up with 'Pagpakabana Kapuso'," Nalzaro said.
Mingoa, for his part, said, "Ilang sektor lang ng lipunan ang nakakaalam sa trabaho ng BJMP," adding, that BJMP also aims to be transparent with its operations.
"Wala kaming dapat itago sa publiko," he said.
"Gikan ta sa pamilya, adto gihapon ta balik sa pamilya," said Delos Santos. The radio program "Pagpakabana Kapuso" is aired every Sunday from 2pm-4pm over dySS Super Radyo. (FREEMAN)
