CEBU, Philippines – A man shot dead yesterday afternoon a married couple inside their convenience store in sitio Langob, barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City.
Lapu-Lapu City Police identified the victims as Eduardo Torreon and his wife, Cresilda, a faith healer.
Eduardo did not reach the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital alive.
His wife was also dead after she was taken to the nearby Tojong Clinic.
Both sustained gunshot wounds on the heart and abdomen.
Police said at about 3:15 p.m. yesterday, three men pretended to be customers while the couple was tending the store.
One of the men went inside the store while the two other men remained outside. Then shots were heard.
Witnesses said they saw men running towards a waiting taxi near the chapel in sitio Langob.
The taxi has been impounded and the police are interrogating the driver.
Neighbors said the couple was nice to them.
"Wala gyud mi kahibawo nganong nahitabo nila nga maayo man kaayo nga kadtong mga managtiayon diri sa among lugar (We have no idea why they were shot)," said a neighbor. (FREEMAN)
