Luigi, hospital sign MOA

CEBU, Philippines – Patients admitted at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center coming from the towns of Consolacion and Cordova towns and Mandaue City will now be assured of immediate medical assistance.

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed yesterday between sixth district Rep. Gabriel Luigi "Luis" Quisumbing, Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center chief Dr. Gerardo Aquino, and Department of Social Welfare and Development-7 regional director Evelyn Macapobre.

Rep. Quisumbing released an initial P350,000 through the Department of Social Welfare and Development-7 for the implementation of the program.

Quisumbing said he will work for the increase of the amount released to DSWD that will help implement the program at the medical center.

He said health care is one of his priorities.

Aquino lauded Quisumbing for his help.

Aquino also thanked all congressmen in Cebu including some Party-List representatives who have also helped.

He said the hospital also welcomes all patients, even if they are not from Cebu province.

"Dako kaayo og natabang ang mga kongresista nato sa Sugbo sa Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center," said Aquino.

For her part, regional director Evelyn Macapobre of the DSWD-7 thanked Quisumbing for employing her office for the implementation of the program.

Macapobre said personnel have been assigned at the medical center to assist patients from the sixth district.  (FREEMAN)
