Seven hurt as bus crashes into wall
CEBU, Philippines – Seven passengers were injured as the mini-bus they were traveling in crashed unto a wall along the national road in barangay Tinaan, Naga Cebu.
The police in Naga town said the vehicle, an Isuzu mini-bus bearing plate number GVU-761, was owned by Allan Chan from sitio Bitoon, barangay Tangil, Dumanjug, Cebu and driven by Samuel Estrada, 43, of barangay Guibuangan, Barili, who was one of the injured.
The other victims included Cheryl Estrada, 18, daughter of the driver, Luigi Alcala, 13, of Dumanjug, Mario Cañete, 35, of barangay Candugay, Barili, Timoteo Ticon, 33, of Dumanjug, Paul Carago, 27, of Dumanjug, and Malicio Sayaw, 40, of Dumanjug, sustained serious injuries.
The mini-bus was traveling from Dumanjug bound for Cebu City when allegedly due to mechanical failing, the driver lost control of the steering wheel.
Desk officer PO2 Ken Cabrera told The FREEMAN that after the driver lost control of his bus, it rammed a residential concrete wall owned by Rene Milagrosa, 50.
The victims were taken to the South General Hospital. (FREEMAN)
