Mandaue to help family of dancer

CEBU, Philippines – Mandaue City has assured financial assistance to one of the dancers who participated in the Comparsa Festival, a 15-year-old student of Mandaue City Science High School, who died last Sunday.

Fifteen-year-old Wilfritz Jake Pasasadaba, a resident of barangay Pulpogan in Consolacion town who was to celebrate his birthday yesterday died after he was taken to Mandaue City Hospi-tal.

Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes has assured the city would extend help to the bereaved family.

The FREEMAN also learned that school officials of the Mandaue City Science High School and barangay captain Jun Del Mar after consultation with barangay officials of Opao and Looc agreed to give P10,000 to the family. The amount would be taken from the prize won by barangay Ibabao, Opao, and Looc.

Mandaue City Science High School principal Rosario Casilagan told reporters that three days before "Comparsa," appeared sickly and sometimes failed to show up for practice.

She said he was advised to rest.

Although he had joined the street dancing presentation, Pasasadaba failed to participate in the main presentation at the Mandaue City Sports Complex. (FREEMAN)
