Soldier's tip leads to drug suspect's arrest

CEBU, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher was arrested after policemen received information from a soldier about the illegal activities of the suspect in Barangay Manghanay, Tuburan.

Eleuterio Gimongala, 25, single was arrested for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerour Drugs Act for allegedly selling shabu.

An informant together with PFC Anthony B. Vargas reported it immediately to Tuburan police station.

Informants told the police that Gimongala was seen selling shabu in Barangay 8 of the same place.

PO3 Saul R. Hortelano and PO1 Sharon Joseph A. Esmero immediately proceeded to the area and conducted a buy bust operation against the suspect which yielded positive result.

Policemen confiscated from the suspect 25 small plastic transparent of crystalline substance placed inside the empty Vicks vaporub container, three rolled aluminum tin foils placed inside an empty Katialis container, one piece P200 bills used as marked money, nine pieces P5 coin and two pieces P1 coin believed to be the proceeds from selling illegal drugs and one red lighter.

The suspect is now detained at the Tuburan Police Station while police prepare the charges to be filed against him. (FREEMAN)
