Two men hang selves dead
CEBU, Philippines - Two men committed suicide by hanging in separate incidents in Cebu province last Tuesday.
In Dumanjug town, Abraham Pastor, 60, allegedly killed himself because he could no longer bear his illness which has been suffering for a long time.
Before the incident, Pastor allegedly told his daughter to tie a nylon rope to the truss of their house so he could use as aid in standing.
During an investigation, PO2 Randy Belucora, said the victim also requested his daughter, Annie, to buy Tanduay 65 at the nearby store.
However, when Annie returned home, she was shocked when she saw her father already hanging from the rope he had asked her to tie to their house’s truss.
Police did not see any sign of foul play in the death of the victim.
In Naga City, depression and poverty allegedly prompted an aeronautical student to commit suicide.
Police said Julies Bason Manalili, 20, locked himself inside his room and killed himself by tying a cloth around his neck.
His mother and brother were forced to open the door when they noticed that something was wrong.
Police investigators learned that the victim’s father is working abroad but the latter stopped supporting his family about three years ago.
The victim’s body was brought to District hospital Minglanilla but pronounced dead on arrival. (FREEMAN)
