CEBU, Philippines – A student from the Cebu Institute of Medicine landed in the seventh place in the Physician Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medicine in the cities of Manila, Cebu, Davao this August.
CIM's pride, Paul Vincent Tio Co got a score of 87.75 percent to be among the 1,597 passers out of the 2,300 who took the examination or a passing percentage of 69.43.
Chitra Deepak Punjabi of the University of Sto. Tomas landed in the top one with a rating of 89.42 percent; followed by Percy Guanzon Balderia of the University of the Phil-ippines-Manila with a score of 89 percent; third is Nikki Doreen So Angbue Te of the University of Sto. Tomas, 88.33 percent; fourth place is Gwenalyn Gail Capistrano Gar-cia of the Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, 88.17 percent; fifth is James Philip Garces Esteban of the University of the Philippines-Manila, 87.92 percent.
In the sixth rank is Michael Conrad Luz Tongol of the University of Sto. Tomas, 87.83 percent; eighth place is Karen de Villa Hernandez of the University of the Philip-pines-Manila, 87.67 percent; ninth place is Kristianne Emmanuelle Rayo Bagaoisan of the University of Sto. Tomas, 87.50 percent and tenth Rozelle Jade Ramirez Javier of the University of Sto. Tomas with a rating of 87.42 percent.
The Professional Regulation Commission announced the results three working days from the last day of examinations.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Monday, August 23, but not later than August 27, 2010.
Those who will register are required to bring a duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), two pieces pass-port size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), one piece 1" x 1" picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), two sets of me-tered documentary stamps, and one short brown envelope with name and profession and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2010-2013. The PRC also advices the successful examinees to personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on September 5. (FREEMAN)
