CEBU, Philippines – A motorcycle for hire driver landed in the hospital after his passenger stabbed him in Barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City past 10am the other day.
The driver was identified as Stephen Ian Cutab, 23, a resident of Barangay Lamac, Consolacion while the suspect was identified as Melchor Dayondon, 34, a construction worker, also a resident of Consolacion.
Cutab said he was waiting for passengers in Consolacion town when Dayondon offered him P100 for a ride to Barangay Pulangbato in Cebu City. When they arrived there, Dayondon reportedly asked that he wait for him.
When Dayondon returned, the suspect was reportedly murmuring that the person he was looking for was not home. Thereafter, without no apparent reason, Dayondon stabbed Cutab twice on the back and sped off using the victim’s Honda Wave 100CC motorcyle.
Dayondon, however, was subsequently arrested after he bumped the motorcycle to the fence of the Pulangbato Barangay Hall.
Cutab positively identified Dayondon as the one who stabbed him and stole his motorcycle.
Dayondon was later turned over to the Talamban Police Station while Cutab was brought to the North General Hospital. He was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. (FREEMAN)
