Army Reserve starts accepting POTC applicants

CEBU, Philippines - The Army Reserve Command in Camp Lapu-Lapu is now accepting applicants for the Probationary Officer Training Corps (POTC) Class 31-2010.

Applicants should be at least 21 years old and not more than 30 years old. Both male and female applicants are required to be at least five feet tall. They must bring with them an accomplished PHS (original) with a 2x2 ID picture, a tax identification number and community residence certificate.

They must also submit a recommendation from their group commander, duly accomplished application form (computerized), full-body picture in proper uniform, birth certificate from the local civil registrar or the National Census and Statistics Office, photocopy of college diploma and authenticated transcript of records, basic and advance ROTC certificate and certificate of grades (if not indicated in the TOR), and an original physical examination report (form 63-A) taken from any government or military hospital validated by an army surgeon.

Applicants are also required to submit a command clearance certificate (G2, PA). In order to secure a G2 clearance, the applicant must avail of a clearance from the barangay, police, Regional Trial Court, and the National Bureau of Investigation, as well as an active EP DLO (from ADJ, PA) and SOI (from MIPO, PA) PHS.

Additional requirements are affidavit (sworn statement-notarized) statement of military service (from ADJ PA), and a summary of information (SOI from IMO, PA) Active EP.

All photocopies materials must be authenticated by JAGO officer except the transcript of record and college diploma.

The documentary requirements must be submitted in two green folders with green tabbings. The G2 Clearance (one original and a photocopy) are required to be submitted in two separate green folders.

Accepted applicants are set to convene on September 10, 2010 at the headquarters of the Army Reserve Command in Tanza, Cavite. POTC Class 31-2010 will be under the leadership of Col. Norman Gomez, QMS (GSC) PA.

While on training, the accepted applicants will receive a basic salary of P20,708; clothing allowance of P200; and subsistence allowance of P2,800.
