CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes said he will reiterate his request to top officials of the Philippine National Police to upgrade the classification of Mandaue City Police Office from class C to Class A.
Cortes said he had also discussed the matter with Mandaue City Police acting Director Noel Gillamac.
Cortes said Camp Crame limits its support to Mandaue because the city is classified as Class C. Cortes was talking about personnel and communication facilities.
The mayor said that previously, the city council had approved a resolution requesting the Philippine National Police to upgrade the classification of the Mandaue City police office but PNP top officials failed to respond to the request.
"Mao nga ato nga m ipaningkamotan karon nga ubos sa atong administrasyon ma upgrade na gayud ang status sa Mandaue City Police Office," said Cortes.
The mayor said the city government continues to look after the needs of the police such as cars, motorcycles, and firearms.
Last week, Cortes announced that the city government will purchase 8 more motorcycles for the police department. (THE FREEMAN)
