Alleged drug pusher in Tanke arrested

CEBU, Philippines – A 24-year-old suspected illegal drug pusher was arrested last Wednesday night during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (PAIDSOT-G) in one of the most drug-infested sitios of barangay Tanke, Talisay City.

Seized from Perlito Baguio Brion, a resident of sitio Tunga where the operation was conducted, were 24 packets containing alleged shabu and believed to be worth P400 each and a medium-size packet of shabu and the P500 marked money used in the operation.

According to SPO4 Ferdinand Navales, the suspect was under surveillance for the last two weeks shortly after the police received reports that he was selling illegal drugs.

Navales said that based on their reports, Brion can dispose 25 grams of shabu every week.

Brion has also a pending case before the court for violation of the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act Law," for reportedly selling drugs three years ago.

He has however allowed to post bail. He is now under the custody of the Talisay City Police while waiting for the case to be filed against him. (THE FREEMAN)
