Luigi distributes school supplies

CEBU, Philippines – Sixth District Rep. Gabriel Luis "Luigi"Quisumbing Jr. is now visiting different barangays in his district is fulfilling the promises he made during the election campaign.

Last Thursday afternoon, Quisumbing visited barangay Nangka, one of the 21 barangays of Consolacion town. He was met by Nangka barangay officials headed by Barangay Captain Rey Cataluna.

Quisumbing, assisted by his staff, distributed school supplies to kindergarten pupils who were at the ground floor of the Nangka barangay hall.

He also read a story to the children while parents watched and listened outside the hall.

"Nindot gayud kayo nga makakita kita sa mga bata nga malipayon kayo samtang naminaw sa atong mga gipanulti ngadto kanila," Quisumbing said.

Quisumbing also visited barangay Alang-alang in Mandaue City where he also distributed school supplies to students.

Quisumbing also met Cataluna and the barangay councilors.

"Maoy atong plano karon nga kon ania kita sa atong distrito, mohimo kita sa pagsuroy sa kabarangayan aron sa pagpaabot sa atong mga programa ug pagpaminaw sa mga problema sa katawhan pinaagi sa tong mga opisyal sa barangay," said Quisumbing.

Cataluna took the opportunity to tell Quisumbing about the barangay's need for an ambulance.

Quisumbing said he would provide the barangay an ambulance, his health program being included in his 10-point agenda for the next three years.

He told Cataluna to be ready with four men to work as ambulance drivers and helpers.

Quisumbing has started also his medical assistance program for the Eversly Child Sanitarium Hospital. He said barangay Nangka residents can avail of the program. (THE FREEMAN)
