CEBU, Philippines – A man was shot to death by unidentified person riding on a motorcycle in Sitio Dita, Barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City last Monday noon.
Noli Pasaol, a laborer and living in Purok 3, Barangay San Jose, was shot dead by a still unidentified person while he was driving his motorcycle.
One of the witnesses, a habal-habal driver, told the police that while he was tailing Pasaol and while passing along the road of Sitio Dita, a lone person riding also a motorcycle was following them and order Pasaol to stop and asked him, "Asa ka bay?" (Where are you heading?)
At the same time, the man pulled out a handgun and shot the victim on his back.
When Pasaol fell from his motorcycle, the man who witnessed the shooting tried to speed off. But the gunman ordered him to stop, so he did.
He also said that after the victim fell to the ground, the assailant continued to fire at the victim at close range, resulting in his instantaneous death. The assailant then fled.
Pasaol had gunshot wounds on his left cheek that exited at the back of his head, and on his left armpit.
The police were able to recover two empty shells of caliber .45 from the crime scene.
The police are still conducting a follow-up investigation to identify the motive of the said shooting and for the possible arrest of the suspect. (THE FREEMAN)
