PRO 7 official "threatens" two women over traffic
CEBU, Philippines - A police official of the regional police headquarters was accused of threatening two women with a gun during a traffic altercation at a parking area in a mall in Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City last Thursday.
Elsa Fernandez, 50, and her daughter Prince Kristel, 21, both residents of Sitio Nonoc in the said barangay accused Chief Insp. Virgilio Apurado, detailed at the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 of threatening them.
Both Fernandezes went to the Talisay City Police Station and have the incident recorded in a blotter last Friday afternoon.
The complainant narrated to the police that they encountered a verbal argument with Apurado, a resident of Barangay Bulacao-Pardo, Cebu City at the parking area.
According to them, Apurado suddenly got mad and took his service firearm from his car and showed it to them, saying, “Naa ko’y dala nga .45 ug wala ko mahadlok bisa’g kinsa ninyo.” (I have a gun and I’m not afraid of anyone.)
Scared, the complainants decided to report the matter to the police.
PO2 Amelito Hornales of the Talisay City Traffic Division said Apurado also went to their office in Tabunok to have the incident recorded in the blotter.
According to Apurado, that Thursday afternoon, he was on his way out of the parking area when his car, a Toyota Tamaraw with plate numbers GKU-828, was hit by the car driven by the Fernandezes (naatrasan).
Apurado claimed that he requested the Fernandezes to settle the matter at the traffic division, worried that the Fernandezes would accuse him as the one at fault. However, the two did not appear before the traffic division.
The FREEMAN tried to get further details of the incident from Apurado through the numbers he left at the traffic division office, but these could not be contacted. (FREEMAN NEWS)
