Woman found dead in Inayawan swamp

CEBU, Philippines - An unidentified woman was found dead near a swamp at Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City yesterday morning.

The woman is believed to be between 25 to 30 years old. She is of medium build and was wearing a yellow shirt and a pair of brown pedal pushers.

Claudio Magnanar, 40, married and a resident of Inayawan, saw the lifeless woman lying on her back around 8 a.m. yesterday.

Magnanar told the police that while he was walking at the area when he saw the woman lying on the ground. He checked her pulse and found none.

He reported what he saw to the tanod on duty at the Barangay Inayawan. It was the tanod, Oliver Taber, who called the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office.

PO3 Jeffrey Gutual told The FREEMAN when they inspected the body, they found blood on the victim’s face. They also saw that the body was already in an advanced state of decomposition.

The body was taken to the St. Francis Funeral Homes for an autopsy.

Magnanar said that he will cooperate with the investigating police of the Homicide Section for the fast resolution of the incident.

Gutual said they will make efforts to determine the identity of the woman and conduct investigation on why she died. — THE FREEMAN
