Radaza tells massage parlor to comply with requirements

- Garry B. Lao -

CEBU, Philippines – Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza has ordered "Chuva-Chuva Lingam Massage," a massage parlor at Mactan Town Center, to stop from doing business for lack of sanitary and business permits.

Radaza's order stemmed from the recommendation of the city health department.

Upon inspection, health officer Rodolfo Berame found out that Chuva-Chuva had not secured a sanitary permit, health permits for six employees, and lacked trained and licensed therapists from the Department of Health.

"You are hereby ordered to immediately cease and desist from further operation of your business," the order read, which was signed by Rolando Duero, the secretary to the mayor.

The cease and desist order was served late Monday afternoon.

Mayor Radaza, who was in Manila when the order was served, wants to make sure the operator complies with the order.

She also instructed the city health department to strictly monitor the establishment.

The establishment is given five-days to comply with the deficiencies and the failure to comply within the period shall result to closure of the establishment.

Radaza has tasked the city health department to inspect all business establishments especially massage parlors and spas.

The mayor said there are 30 spas and massage parlors operating in the city. (THE FREEMAN)
