CEBU, Philippines - Burglars made off with an estimated P100,000 worth of home appliances from a house in Barangay Kamputhaw yesterday morning.
Edsel Sevilles, 28, a resident of the said place, reported to the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office that his house was robbed between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. yesterday by unidentified men.
Investigation revealed that the unidentified men climbed the wall of the said house and forcibly opened the sliding window of the living room before taking the appliances of Sevilles.
When Sevilles woke up in the morning, he discovered that his Samsung 45-inch television and Samsung DVD player were gone.
His mother, Jenny Sevilles said they do not know who could have taken the items but she said they will file charges against them.
Meanwhile, a couple was hospitalized after they were robbed and bludgeoned by two men in Barangay Biga, Toledo City last Friday morning.
The victims were identified as Cosme Geonzon and his wife Feliza, both farmers.
Their son Rolando Geonzon suspects that the attackers were after the money his parents got after selling their two cows amounting to P25,000 last Thursday.
But the suspects only got P2,500 from the victims since the victims already sent the rest of the amount to their daughter who was at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City for a caesarian section.
Police said around 4 a.m. the suspects were already waiting for the victim to pass by. When they spotted Cosme and Feliza, the suspects attacked them and hit them with blunt weapons.
Lutopan Sub-Police Station chief Insp. Jorge Macapobre said that they arrested two neighbors of the victims, Crisanto Paran and Leonardo Flores, after they were positively identified by the victims as the ones who attacked them.
Cosme was hurt in the head while Feliza was wounded in the nape.
Neighbors and relatives of the victims discovered Feliza just inches away from a cliff. The two were immediately rushed to VSMMC but Feliza was brought directly to the Intensive Care Unit due to her condition. (FREEMAN NEWS)
