Two bodies were found floating along the shores of Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning.
A group of youngsters collecting garbage along the seashore in barangay Pusok found a dead man which was later identified as Venerando Egana, 55, at around 6:30 yesteday morning.
Six hours earlier, Egana’s niece had seen her uncle fishing near East Asia Utilities located at the Mactan Export Zone (Mez 1) on board his pump boat.
The niece said her uncle was suffering from tuberculosis and recently complained of chest pains.
Two hours after Egana’s body was found, another dead man was found in Kumpang Beach in barangay Looc.
The dead man was later identified as Conrado Alburo, 40, a resident of the place.
Alburo’s stepfather said that 4 a.m., his son-in-law told him he was going out for a swim in the sea.
As alleged, Alburo was suffering from an inborn brain defect.
The bodies, which were taken to the Cosmopolitan Funeral Parlor, did not show any sign of foul play. (THE FREEMAN)
