CEBU, Philippines - For failing to pay a man he had contracted for sexual pleasure, an alleged gay was shot dead yesterday morning in Barangay Ermita.
Charlito “Kokoy” Empinado, 27, resident of said place, shot the still unidentified gay after the latter refused to fulfill his promise. A 15 year-old girl was also in critical condition after she got hit by a stray bullet.
Empinado, who was arrested following a hot pursuit operation, said the gay promised to give him money in exchange for sexual pleasure. According to the suspect, he agreed but the victim reportedly ran away after having sex with him.
Empinado told the homicide investigators that he chased the victim and shot him once in the body causing his death. Mary Ann Baguio, who was at a nearby burger junction when the shooting happened, was seriously injured after a stray bullet hit her in the head.
Baguio and the unidentified gay, who was at his early 40s, fair complexion, medium built, semi-bald, 5’8” in height, were immediately rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center.
The gay was declared dead while the girl remains in critical condition. Charges for murder and frustrated homicide are now being prepared by the police against Empinado.
Meanwhile, a law student suffered severe head injury after two unidentified persons struck him with a blunt object the other night while waiting for a cab at Pelaez Street to take him home.
Rex Elmer Tibon, 23, a junior law student of the University of San Carlos, said he and two other companions, Michael Escacio and Dexter Bascon, were waiting for a ride when the two unidentified assailants stacked him from behind.
Tibon’s companions tried to help him but the assailants were tough and strong enough for them. The unidentified attackers immediately fled while the victim was rushed to Chong Hua Hospital where he is currently confined. – THE FREEMAN
