2 shot dead by unidentified men

CEBU, Philippines - A man was shot dead by three men in sitio Ylaya, Barangay Putat, Tuburan town, last Sunday morning.

Tuburan Police Station identified the victim as Wilfredo Cahuma, 30.

Investigation revealed that around 8 a.m. Cahuma and his child were standing outside their house when three men approached from behind and shot Cahuma in the head.

Two of them were only identified by their aliases as “Urot” and “Leo”. It was Urot who allegedly shot Cahuma.

After the incident, the three got onboard a motorcycle last seen heading toward Consolacion.

Cahuma was first rushed to the Tuburan District Hospital but was later on transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City, but he failed to make it there alive.

Meanwhile, another man was shot to death by a still unidentified assailant inside his house in Barangay Pili, Danao City, last Monday evening.

Rosalito Castro, 34, was having dinner inside his house when the man appeared and shot him in the back, the bullet exited through his chest. SPO4 Jose Salingua Jr. said they were able to recover a .38 cal. slug at the crime scene.

Police are still conducting follow up investigation to determine the motive of the two killings and for the possible arrest of the assailants.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
