CEBU, Philippines - A policeman of the Mactan Economic Processing Zone and security guards of Jantro Security Agency filed a complaint before the office of the Ombudsman-Visayas against a policemen assigned to the Police Regional Office-7 headquarters for allegedly threatening them with a gun.
According to guards Nestor Romero, and Wilfredo Arellano around 7:30 p.m. last June 23 while security guards Ricky Valencia and Judril Añon of Jantro Security Agency were on duty at MEPZ Gate 1 PO1 Alex Baquirquir arrived at the gate on his motorcycle and parked in front of MEPZ Police headquarters.
Baquirquir then disembarked and while walking towards the gate, he pulled out his gun and cocked it.
He then approached the guards and shouted at them “Asa si Senen, kon di mo motug-an pamatyon ta mong tanan,” referring to Philippine Export Zone Authority policeman Senen Sudario.
Valencia answered that Senen was off-duty but Baquirquir entered the office of MEPZ Police Headquarters still holding the gun.
He reportedly pointed his gun at Sgt. Anselmo Fausto, who was alone, and asked where Senen was. Fausto told him Senen was not there.
Baquirquir then reportedly drove past to Gate 3 and again he leveled his gun at the guards on duty at the gate and asked about the whereabouts of Senen.
When Baquirquir did not find Senen he then proceeded to Gate 4 where he also allegedly pointed his gun at the guards there.
Responding to the call from the Jantro guards, PEZA police officers Romero and Arellano immediately arrived at the scene but Baquirquir already left toward the direction of the Ibo barangay hall. (FREEMAN NEWS)
