Capitol assures support for training center in Dumanjug

CEBU, Philippines - The out-of-school youths in Dumanjug town and neighboring municipalities of the Cebu’s second district will soon be given a chance to work abroad or manage their own business.

The other day, a memorandum of agreement was signed between Technical Education Skills for Development Administration-7 director Rossana Urdaneta, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, second district Rep. Pablo Garcia and Dumanjug mayor Nelson Garcia for the purpose.

Rep. Garcia assured financial assistance for the construction of a training and livelihood center building in the town.

Under the agreement, the provincial government will provide technical support to the center and other assistance to produce graduates in the field of welding and other technical courses.

Governor Garcia said the provincial government fully supports the programs of different national government agencies that address the unemployment problems.

She added that her administration believes that one of the ways of helping those who need and looking for jobs is giving them support.Urdaneta, on the other hand, said that TESDA is very thankful to the provincial government and Rep. Garcia for their support to the program.

Some local government units in Cebu have produced good welders who are now working abroad through the support of TESDA-7. — THE FREEMAN
