Local TV talent hurt in hacking
CEBU, Philippines - A drama talent of a local television station was injured after he was hacked by a parking attendant whom he had engaged with in a verbal tussle while parking his motorcycle on Pelaez Street, Barangay Sto. Niño last Sunday.
Ramon dela Cruz, 43, resident of Barangay Kalubihan and a drama talent of Catholic Television Network (CCTN) channel 47 suffered a single hack wound on his right wrist after he tried to parry the attack from the suspect identified only as Junel.
Initial police investigation show that the victim was parking his motorcycle at the parking area near Ultra Vistarama on Pelaez St. when he encountered a heated argument with the suspect.
The argument result to the victim challenging the suspect into a fistfight. However, instead of heeding to the challenge the suspect took a 24-inch bolo and started hacking dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz tried to parry the blows with his bare hands causing a deep lacerated wound on his right wrist. The suspect immediately fled after hitting the victim leaving his bolo and a 12-inch ice pick.
Witnesses however told the police that the victim, who was allegedly very drunk, provoked the suspect.
The responding policeman and a barangay tanod took the victim to the Cebu City Medical Center while a manhunt operation against the suspect was immediately launched.
The police however failed to arrest the suspect until now. (FREEMAN NEWS)
