CEBU, Philippines - A construction worker in Basak, Lapu-Lapu was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital after sustaining several gunshot wounds in his back.
The victim, Warren Ochea, 27, an alleged member of the bloods gang, was shot outside a KTV and Karaoke Bar where he and his friends were drinking and having fun by a still unknown man at around 2:15 am yesterday.
The victim reportedly went outside alone to buy some cigarette when the assailant, already waiting for him, shot him and immediately rode his motorcycle to flee.
Ochea was immediately brought to the Mactan Doctor’s Hospital but he did not make it alive.
Senior Police Officer 2 Federick Eslit of the Lapu-Lapu Police Homicide Section said that the victim and his friends first had a drinking session at the former’s residence before they transferred to the KTV and Karaoke Bar.
The police have no lead yet on what prompted the killing. Angles being looked into are personal grudge and gang violence. – THE FREEMAN
