Housekeeper stabs security guard dead

CEBU, Philippines - An off-duty security guard died on the spot after he was stabbed several times by a judge’s housekeeper last Tuesday night inside an unfinished house in Unit 4, Oprra, Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.

The suspect, Teodora Cariñosa Bakirang, 21, housekeeper of Judge Anacleto Debalucos claimed she stabbed Glen Yosores, 32, in self defense.

Yosores, a native of Gunting, Barili town and working as a security guard for Alcordo Advertising agency, suffered from fatal stab wounds on his chest and forehead.

Responding policemen from the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office saw the victim lying on his back with multiple stab wounds inside the unfinished house of Jeremiah Infante.

Paramedics of Basak Pardo Emergency Unit who responded to the area declared the victim dead as he was already unresponsive, breathless and without pulse when they checked him. His body was taken to St. Francis Funeral Homes for the autopsy procedures.

In an interview with The FREEMAN, Cariñosa, a native of Sitio Tiguib, Argao town, said what she did to Yosores was out of total self defense.

She narrated that at past 8 p.m., she went out of the house of her employer to urinate when suddenly, she noticed an unusual noise from the nearby unfinished and unlighted house.

Cariñosa added she then promptly got back inside the house and took a knife since according to her, few weeks ago, there were reports that thieves were prying on the construction materials from the unfinished house.

When she went to the unfinished structure to check, she claimed that she was surprised when she discovered that the door was already unlocked. When she got near the door, she added she was suddenly pulled inside by a man so she struggled to be freed out and stabbed the man on the forehead. When the man pulled her again, she allegedly stabbed him again on the chest causing him to fall.

Cariñosa alleged that she had no idea that the man she stabbed was a security guard. She added she don’t know why he was there as he was supposedly off duty during that time.

After the incident, Cariñosa said she phoned her employer, who was jogging at the Cebu City Sports Center and informed him.

Responding policemen recovered from the crime scene a Nokia cellphone, which is allegedly owned by Yosores and two knives from the lavatory, one of which, was allegedly used by Cariñosa in killing the security guard.

PO1 Nilo Abenturado, said the suspect voluntarily surrendered after the incident and is now detained at the CCPO stockade while waiting for the filing of criminal complaint against her. — (FREEMAN NEWS)
