CEBU, Philippines - For the second time, unidentified men fired shots at the house of the barangay treasurer of Malingin, Bogo City about 11pm the other night.
Provincial Police Director Sr. Supt. Erson Digal said Marilyn Catadman, 50, was already sleeping when the incident happened. The shots had awakened her and prompted her to seek for assistance.
No one was hurt in the shooting, but Digal said bullets hit different parts of Catadman’s house. Eight empty shells of a caliber 9mm and seven slugs of same firearm were also recovered from the crime scene.
The first time Catadman’s house was shot at was the day before the May 10 elections. No one was also hurt at that time.
Digal said it is possible that the two attacks were just a way to intimidate Catadman’s family because the suspects could have just killed Catadman instantly if they really wanted to eliminate her.
Digal said he already instructed the chief of police in Bogo to probe deeper into the incident.
