CEBU, Philippines - United States Ambassador Harry Thomas, Jr. will be in Cebu tomorrow to participate in the Local Government Unit Forum on Efforts to Combat Trafficking in Persons.
To be held at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, the forum will bring together representatives from the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office, Philippine National Police and non-government organizations.
Also attending are officials of Departments of Social Welfare and Development, Labor and Employment, Health, and Tourism.
The forum, organized by the U.S. Embassy and the International Justice Mission, will focus on rescue efforts of human trafficking victims and on the need to prosecute offenders.
Thomas, the first African-American to serve as US Ambassador to the Philippines, will deliver the keynote address at the forum. (FREEMAN NEWS)
