CEBU, Philippines - A modern Lapu-Lapu City police headquarters will rise soon inside the city hall compound.
Lapu-Lapu City Police Senior Supt. Mariano Natuel Jr. lauded outgoing Mayor and now Congressman-elect Arturo Radaza for sourcing out P10 million for the construction and renovation of the PNP building.
“Nahimutang ra man gihapon ang bag-ong gitukod nga PNP building atubangan nga bahin sa daan namong gi-occupy karon,” Natuel said.
Natuel said the mayor, who himself was a police officer, understands the program of the PNP, which is the transformation and modernization of the agency.
The 10 million two-story standard PNP building houses a jail and comfort rooms, conference room, and an office.
The construction started last week and it is expected to be finished within five months.
Natuel said the PNP is geared towards putting up more modern police stations per region.
The old structure will be used as a holding area for women and children and quarters for the policemen, he said. (THE FREEMAN)
