CEBU, Philippines - A man died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a tricycle along P.J. Almendras St. in Barangay Suba, Danao City last Friday evening.
Gerald Biarcal, 18, of Lapulapu St. Barangay Suba was driving his black Honda Wave motorcycle with Mateo Almacen as his passenger. The two were heading north while Christian Morales, driver of the tricycle, was traveling towards the direction of Cebu City.
Morales tried to overtake a jeepney but unfortunately, Biarcal did not notice his tricycle. The motorcycle and the tricycle collided.
Because of the impact, Biarcal and Almacen were thrown meters away from their motorcycle. They landed hard on the pavement, causing their head injuries. They also had wounds in different parts of their bodies.
They were immediately taken to the Danao District Hospital, but Biarcal died minutes after. Almacen, on the other hand, was transferred to a hospital in Cebu City where he is now in critical condition.
Morales voluntarily surrendered to the Danao City Police Station. (FREEMAN NEWS)
