2 men held for shabu possession
CEBU, Philippines - The police arrested two men for possession of illegal drugs during a buy bust operation yesterday dawn in sitio Asinan in barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City.
A certain Tonio Bohol and a certain Joven, who were repacking shabu, jumped out of the window when men from the Opao police station arrived. Only Joseph Batulat, 35, and Angelo Fuentes, 19, were arrested.
According to P/Insp.Wilson Abot, the four men were immediately placed on surveillance following a tip from an informant.
Abot said the police were after Bohol and “Joven.”
It was Batulat who handed to the police a small pack of shabu in exchange for the marked P220. He and Fuentes were immediately arrested.
Abot said Batulat had served time in jail for an illegal drug case while Fuentes for concealing a deadly weapon .
During the raid the police seized shabu in 12 small sachets, drug paraphernalia, and the marked money.
Both men are now detained at the Opao police station pending the filing of charges against them. – THE FREEMAN
