Man shot after argument with lover

CEBU, Philippines - A man landed at the hospital after he was shot in Sitio Plastikan, Barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City.

Kenneth Cedino Rivera, 24, jobless, a resident of the place sustained gunshot wounds to his side and his right buttocks and was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center for immediate treatment.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim went to the house of his live-in partner, Jocelyn “Eyen” Oralde to settle their differences but her uncle, Wilfredo Peligrino alias “Pidot” allegedly advised the victim to go home.

 But while in an alley on his way home, bursts of gunfire reportedly rang out and moments later Rivera was found lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.

Neighbors rushed Rivera to the nearby barangay hall where they sought assistance. Barangay tanods then brought him to the city hospital for medical treatment.Responding police officers recovered at the crime scene one deformed slug of unknown firearm.

Meanwhile, a body of an unidentified man was found in Barangay Lipata Linao, Minglanilla at around 4:00 a.m. yesterday.

A concerned citizen informed Minglanilla Police Station that a dead body of a male person was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his head and drenched in his own blood.

The unidentified victim was described as between 5’4” to 5’5” in height, brown complexioned, medium-built, wearing blue t-shirt, denim shorts, and blue slippers.

Responding policemen brought the victim to Minglanilla District Hospital where he was declared dead by the attending doctor. His body was later transferred to Mountain View Funeral Homes for an autopsy.

The police remain clueless on the identity of the suspects on both incidents and the motive behind them. — THE FREEMAN
