10 PAF personnel given awards

CEBU, Philippines - Ten personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines last Tuesday morning received awards for acts of heroism, meritorious and valuable service rendered, meritorious achievements and invaluable service rendered, demonstrated exemplary, efficiency, loyalty and devotion to duty, and having completed thirty years of continuous faithful service.

The giving of the awards was the highlight of the “Talk to Men” ceremony led by Lieutenant General Oscar H. Rabena AFP, Commanding General Philippine Air Force. Giving the awards were Lieutenant General Oscar H. Rabena AFP, Commanding General Philippine Air Force, Brigadier General Edgardo C. Mendoza AFP, outgoing Commading General 560th Air Base Wing, Major General Jesus A. Fajardo AFP, OIC 2nd Air Division and staff.

The Bronze Cross Medal went to Captain Salvador C. Dee PAF, Light Armor Division, Philippine Army for acts of heroism involving risk of life through prompt and expeditious response as member of 207th Tactical Helicopter Squadron Philippine Air Force (PAF) that conducted search and rescue operation to Mount Pinatubo trekkers along O' Donnel river and flooded Barangay Juliana, Santa Lucia and Patling all of Capas, Tarlac during the height of flash flood on 06 to 07 August 2009.

The Bronze Cross Medal was awarded to Master Sergeant Esperato D. Nellas PAF, Headquarters 2nd Air Division for acts of heroism.

The Bronze Cross Medal was given to Staff Sergeant Alexander P. Pau PAF, Headquarters 2nd Air Division for acts of heroism.

The Military Merit Medal went to 1st Lieutenant Ramil Daet, PAF Headquarters H220th Airlift Wing (AW) for meritorious and valuable service rendered to the wing in the successful repair of 72 kva generator voltage regulator. 

The Military Merit Medal was given to Technical Sergeant Edgar D. Bornales PAF, Headquarters H220th Airlift Wing for meritorious achievements and invaluable services rendered to 220th Airlift Wing as member of maintenance group responsible for the modification of the life raft compartments of C-130 aircraft.

The Military Commendation Medal was awarded to 1st Lieutenant Rhanjee G. Lao PAF for having demonstrated exemplary, efficiency, loyalty and devotion to duty.

The Military Civic Action Medal was awarded to Master Sergeant Jerry F. Go PAF R and Sergeant Joan Butalid PAF R, Headquarters Air force Reserve Command for exemplary efficiency and devotion to duty.

Mrs. Nancy Rabaya and Mrs. Virgilia Linao, Headquarters Philippine Air force received the Gold Service Pin for having completed 30 years of continuous faithful service with the Philippine Air Force.

Before the Talk to Men, Lieutenant General Rabena joined the fun run at 4:30 in the morning and the Turn Over of Command to the 560th Air Base Wing.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
