Beauty queens of Mandaue to raise fund for indigent kids
CEBU, Philippines - The Queen of Mandaue 2010, JJ Farr and her first runner-up, Aida Mananquil, are planning to raise funds for indigent children in the city.
During her thanksgiving party held at Level 8 in Andama building, Farr, who was also the Matron Queen of Cordova from 2007 up to 2009, said charity work has always been her passion.
“Now that I’m the Queen of Mandaue, I am going to raise funds for children, especially the indigent ones in Mandaue,” said Farr, who has been the fund raising chairman of Filipino Women’s Association in the United Kingdom since 1989.
Mananquil, who owns a hardware store, Aimark Marketing and Aidorg Marketing for her part said that long before she joined this year’s beauty tilt, she has been engaged in feeding programs in some barangays.
Mananquil, who also owns three beauty parlors and a spa in the city, “Angging’s Salon and Spa” said that this time, she is sharing more her blessings as she will conduct a feeding program, together with Farr, for the entire 27 barangays in the city.
Farr, an international and local event organizer, said she plans to hold benefit concerts, sing-along contests, among others, in order to raise funds. (FREEMAN NEWS)
