CEBU, Philippines - Nothing was taken after men on a motorcycle attempted to rob a Russian at gunpoint yesterday in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City at past 3 a.m.
Kharchonko Ksenva, 22, single, is in Lapu-Lapu as a tourist.
Police said three men on a motorcycle blocked Ksenva’s taxi as it approached the gate of the village where she resides.
Two of the men who were armed with 45 cal. guns declared a holdup.
The guard of the village who tried to responded to what was going on was shot at, but the bullet which missed its intended target, slammed into the glass window of the guardhouse.
Two of the holdup men pointed their guns at the taxi driver and at Ksenva’s head at the same time demanding for her shoulder bag.
When she refused to hand it over, one of the men struck her on the forehead with his gun, before going away with nothing taken from her.
Ksenva was taken to Chong Hua Hospital for a bruised forehead.
The police still have no leads but theorized that the perpetrators could probably be neighbors. – THE FREEMAN
