CEBU, Philippines - The members of One Cebu Party who won in the last May 10 elections will take their oath en masse at the Cebu International Convention Center on June 30.
Lawyer Rory Jon Sepulveda, the party spokesperson, said that Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will lead the party members in the oath taking.
Sepulveda however said that all other elected officials in the province even those who are not members of One Cebu are welcome to join them. According to Sepulveda, Garcia, being the party chairperson, will take her oath first before the rest of the provincial officials and the mayors.
Sepulveda said they have not decided yet on who will administer the ceremony. But, the party official said they stand by President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino’s stand to take oath before any person who has the authority to administer an oath.
During her second term, Garcia took her oath before outgoing Vice President Noli de Castro in the Capitol Social Hall.
Sepulveda said they already have the short list of the personalities, officials and dignitaries who will be invited to grace the occasion. They however refused to disclose it to the public just yet. — THE FREEMAN
