CEBU, Philippines - A man who was arrested for illegally possessing a firearm last Saturday in sitio Kinalumsan, barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday admitted to the police that he belongs to a motorcycle group that robs people in Mandaue City.
Migule Manglapaz, 32, married, and a resident of Canjulao was arrested after police learned about the presence of an armed man in the area.
During tactical interrogation, Manglapaz admitted he was involved in several robberies in Mandaue together with a companion who he failed to divulge his name.
He also told police where he had sold or pawned most of the items he had taken from victims.
The police recover three laptops, a portable play station, a digital camera, and two cellular phones.
As of yesterday, the police were still going after more items pawned and sold in Lapu-Lapu City.
Manglapaz said most of their victims have been call center agents or office workers who bring their laptop bags with them.
With the arrest of Manglapaz, LLCPO director Mariano Natuel is calling all those who have been victimized in Mandaue to identify the items his men have recovered.
Charges of illegal possession of firearms and violation of the Comelec gun ban against the man are being prepared.
