Vidal ordains new priests, deacons
CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal ordained 11 priests and five deacons at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral yesterday.
The newly ordained priests are Rev. Nazario Caiban, Rev. Lyle Carungay, Rev. Charles Louis Jayme, Rev. Domiciano La Rosa III, Jan Thomas Zimchua, Rev. Philip Pepito, Rev. Simplicio Pugasan, Jr., Rev. Edward Verame, and Rev. Abel Villarojo.
The new deacons are Ian Fel Balankig, Fiel Suico, Alvin Medina, Rhanmar Singuran, and Romeo Vitor.
In his homily, Vidal told the new priests and deacons that “I know and you know what you are facing right now is not easy as a newly proclaimed priests and deacons that will serve God.”
He reminded them to go as “you proclaimed by God as new followers of Him, to send his message to the people.”
Newly proclaimed priest La Rosa III said he is thankful to those who molded him and led him in the right path.
Caiban told The FREEMAN that he felt fulfillment and happy that after 12 years in staying at the seminary he has eventually become a priest. — THE FREEMAN
