Juvenile "thief" shot dead

CEBU, Philippines - The police dismissed suspicions of vigilantism.

A boy who had been in and out of the detention cell of station 3 of the Lapu-Lapu City police, was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle along Osmeña Street, barangay Poblacion yesterday morning.

The juvenile, of sitio Tugas, barangay Gun-ob was shot at past 2:00 while with friends, PO1 Maximo Villagonzalo of the Crime Against Persons desk said.

He sustained gunshot wounds on his stomach, face, and arm. A .45 caliber pistol was used to kill the juvenile.

SPO2 Danilo Aying of the Crime Against Persons desk (TRS) said the juvenile was often arrested for theft and sniffing rugby.Since he was a minor, he was released and referred to the Department of Social Welfare.
