CEBU, Philippines - A motorcycle-for-hire driver luckily survived after shot several times by an unidentified man who was with six alleged back-ups in Barangay Bulacao-Pardo, Cebu City at almost 2 a.m. yesterday.
The victim was identified as Arjen Terugo Arquisal, 24, and a resident of the place.
SPO4 Alex Dacua of the Homicide Section said Arquisal only identified the gunman as certainBulantoy,” who also resides in the place. He failed to identify the six others.
Investigation showed that the victim was riding his motorcycle to supposedly fetch his live-in partner from work when upon passing Sitio Kabangkalan I, the suspect, armed with a gun, appeared.
The gunman allegedly led his cohorts and then shot the victim several times with no apparent reason.
The bullets grazed Arquisal’s chest, leg, and arm. His live-in partner brought him to the Cebu City Medical Center and is now in a stable condition.
The victim allegedly told police that he could not remember having any grudge or any encounter with the gunman.
However, Dacua believed that the suspect has a personal grudge against Arquisal. — Niña G. Sumacot/WAB
