Sepulveda to sue Sanchez for allowing casual employees to work in his farm
CEBU, Philippines - For allowing casual employees of the Capitol to work in his private farm in Tuburan, Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez, Jr. will be facing charges before the Office of the Visayas Ombudsman.
Capitol Spokesman Rory Jon Sepulveda said he is making good of his promise before the May 10 elections that he is personally filing a case against Sanchez if he finds strong evidence that the vice governor has allowed some casual employees under his office to work in his private farm.
Sanchez welcomed the threat saying that he is ready to face it as soon as it is formally filed before the Office of the Ombudsman Visayas. Although, he strongly denied the accusations
Sepulveda said now that he is in position of all the evidence and affidavits to prove the allegation against Sanchez, he will file the case in his capacity as a taxpayer.
“Kay gusto man niya nga papahawaon ko sa Kapitolyo nga iyang tambag ni Governor Garcia, ako nalang gyud ipadayon ang pagpasaka niya og kaso,” Sepulveda said.
Sanchez earlier advised the governor to dismiss Sepulveda as spokesperson because he allegedly causing problems to the office.
Sepulveda said that the investigating committee chaired by Provincial Legal Officer Marino Martinquilla found out that there were four casual employees under Sanchez who have been working outside the Capitol.
The four casual employees are identified as Manuel Montoben Sr., Edilberto Esdrelon, Chrissie Jane Iman and Elmer Bontila. These employees are allegedly reporting only to the Capitol every Monday because most of the times they are working in Sanchez’ private farm.
Sepulveda said he will endorse his formal complaints before the Office of the Visayas Ombudsman anytime this week.
“Aron gayud maklaro kining tanan, importante gayud kaayo nga atong ipaabot kining mga isyu ngadto sa buhatan sa Visayas Ombudsman,” Sepulveda said.
Sepulveda said that the committee of Martinquilla submitted its report to the governor last January yet but he did not touch the issue to avoid suspicion that he is using it for politics. — THE FREEMAN
