2 brgys benefit from new water system in Sogod
CEBU, Philippines - Improvement works on the water system for the mountain barangays of Sogod town were completed recently through the P2 million financial assistance from the provincial government.
Sogod Mayor Lissa Marie Durano said hundreds of residents from the mountain barangays Cabalawan and Ampongol have now been benefited with the water system. Farmers of Barangay Ampongol, Durano said, are most happy with the development.
The Tinubdan Spring in Barangay Ampongol was the one developed by the municipal government through a counterpart budget of P500,000.
The Ampongol Farmers Irrigation Association also received P100,000 for the maintenance of the water project.
Durano said she sought the help of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and officials of the National Irrigation Administration immediately after residents of the two mountain barangays informed her of their problem on their water supply. — THE FREEMAN
