CEBU, Philippines - Fresh from another mandate as local chief executive, Cordova municipality Mayor Adelino Sitoy is contemplating building a district hospital in the town.
Sitoy said he pities residents who have to go to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City for immediate medical attention.
“Nawad-an na gyud og labing duol nga tambalanan ang lungsod nga kadangpan sa mga kabus nga molupyo tungod sa pagkahimo usab nga lone congressional district ang dakbayan sa Lapu-Lapu,” Sitoy said.
Cordova and Lapu-Lapu City are located in the island of Mactan.
Cordova remains a part of the sixth district of Cebu Province.
According to Sitoy, the Lapu-Lapu City district hospital is already managed by the city and that Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center not only caters to Cebu residents but to people in the region.
Although his plan would be costly, Sitoy hopes construction could begin before 2013. (FREEMAN NEWS)
