Man kills friend with broken bottle

-

A 38-year-old man died the other day after he was allegedly stabbed by a drinking buddy with a broken bottle.

Based on the initial investigation of the Talisay City Police, the victim Cornelio Cardibal, 38, was drinking with his friend Anthony Valmore, 24, near the former’s residence in Southwind Subdivision, barangay Dumlog, and another friend identified only as “Dexter,” when the incident happened.

SPO1 Oliver Dacua, Talisay City Police Station’s desk officer, said Cardibal and Valmore, a resident of the neighboring sitio Kimba, barangay Cansojong were arguing while drinking when Valmore picked up an empty bottle of vodka and broke it by smashing it against a wall.

Valmore swung the broken bottle at Cardibal.

Valmore reportedly did it several times, that the victim sustained several stab wounds in the different parts of the body.

Cardibal was taken to the Talisay District Hospital in barangay San Isidro, but was immediately transferred to the government-run Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City for treatment.

However, Dacua said because of his wounds in the chest and abdomen, he died eventually.
