NP hits Noy's "Kamag-Anak Inc."

CEBU, Philippines - The Nacionalista Party of Senator Manuel Villar has once again hit on the “Kamag-Anak Inc.” of Liberal Party standard bearer Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino.

 NP spokesman and senatorial candidate Gilbert Remulla said Aquino’s “Kamag-anak Inc.” past continues to haunt Aquino’s presidential bid.

Remulla said no other personality during the EDSA people power revolution came close to defining the sins of Kamag Anak Inc., than the late Manila Archdiocese democracy hero Jaime Cardinal Sin.

The senatorial aspirant recalled that in a December speech after the 7th coup attempt against then President Corazon Cory Aquino, Sin warned of a “social explosion” unless Coryno dealt squarely with the unending reports of the “abusive roles of presidential relatives”.

“The speech of Sin came at the heels of continuous reports regarding Kamag Anak Inc. an issue which did not escape the attention of other EDSA revolution icons,” Remulla said in a press statement sent to The FREEMAN yesterday.

He cited that EDSA Hero Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, who was then Senate Minority Floor Leader, reportedly got reports that Kamag Anak Inc. member Tingting Cojuangco, aunt-in-law of Noynoy and wife of Jose “Peping” Cojuangco, brother of Cory, allegedly kept the jewels of Former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

Remulla further cited that in the book “Presidential Plunder,” former senator and Presidential Commission on Good Government Chief Jovito Salonga wrote that at the very least, Mrs. Cojuangco knew about the looting in Malacanang.

He further said the leaders of the successive coup de etat during the Aquino administration like Senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan, reportedly complained that the Cory administration’s failure to deliver basic services and allegations of corruption among Cory’s relatives prompted rebel soldiers to launch their actions.

The issue of Kamag Anak Inc., Remulla said also prompted the late Don Chino Roces, who spearheaded the million signature drive to convince Cory to run for president, to make a stinging statement about the presidential relatives. – THE FREEMAN
