CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu provincial government may adopt a one-hour power off every month as part of its support to the global “Earth Hour” campaign.
The Provincial Board invited provincial administrator Eduardo Habin to appear in its regular session on Monday to explain the details of the plan.
Board members want Habin to discuss with them the viability to switch off the lights at the Capitol and Legislative buildings for one hour every month.
PB member Victor Maambong said the presence of Habin in the session will guide them in the implementation of the plan.
According to Maambong, there is a need to implement the plan considering the need to conserve energy.
The move is one way of raising awareness on the danger of toxic carbon emissions caused by the use of fossil fuel as energy source to avert global warming. (FREEMAN NEWS)
