De los Santos calls out Cutie again

CEBU, Philippines - Opposition congressional candidate for the north district Lahug barangay captain Mary Ann Delos Santos challenged her opponent Rachel “Cutie” Del Mar to come out into the open again.

Delos Santos made the challenge after calling Del Mar a “liar” for claiming that she graduated Cum Laude at the University of San Jose-Recoletos.

“Rest assured I am not faking my diploma… Let’s put everything on the table, kung unsa’y kursong nahuman. Kay kinahanglan ang kinaadman, igong katakos, ug eksperyensya,” she said.

The candidate said that Del Mar did not even finish a formal four-year course let alone the Expanded Tertiary Education, and Equivalency Accreditation Program.

“Wala pa ka lingkod namakak na”, said Delos Santos during the Tapok-tapok sa KIA yesterday.

Delos Santos is also confident that her following is very high as during pulong-pulongs people are turning to her after listening to her speech.

“Naa’y singkwenta anyos pataas nga del Mar gyud kaayo but pagkadungog nila nako, nibalhin nako,” she added.

Delos Santos cited her educational background and experience in governance as her edge over her opponents

For 15 years Delos Santos served as a Lahug barangay official. She is also a political science graduate, a Law graduate and has received several accolades including awards from the Cebu City government.

The FREEMAN tried to get the side of Rachel Del Mar but she was in a meeting. But her father North District Rep. Raul Del Mar assured that her daughter really graduated Cum Laude.

According to him, Cutie finished her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, in Expanded Tertiary Education, and Equivalency Accreditation Program at USJ-R.

The Congressman added that her daughter is currently taking her Masters Degree on Public Management at Ateneo De Manila University School of Government.

“We do have enough of records to prove that Cutie really graduated Cum Laude,” he said. — Johanna T. Natavio with Sheila Marie E. Catacutan and Dorothy Mae Acabo, NORSU interns/BRP (FREEMAN NEWS)
